Freddie reincarnated !

I was lucky enough to see Queen live 3 times in the 70s. They were amazing!!! Freddie's voice on record was magical. Marc's voice sounds like Freddie's recordings. I remember seeing his audition tape, doing Somebody To Love... I was absolutely blown away. His nasal cavity structure must be so close to Freddie's. When I would see concert videos of Queen in the 80s, when Freddie had the mustache, although still amazing, he struggled with some notes, and would have Roger take over the high notes, to persevere his voice... which I get. I am lead vocals and lead guitar in a band that has been around since the 70s... we would do two to three hour shows, and I sing very high. After a few shows, my voice suffered, so I get it. Again, Freddie still sounded amazing. Gary sounds like live 80s Freddie. Marc sounds like all the studio albums. If Queen had Marc do dome of Freddie's vocals in the Bohemian Rhapsody movie, I guess that says a lot. The problem with the videos is the soundmen. Gary's soundman nails Queen's live souns... clear, present, and punchy... and he knows what frequencies enhance Freddie's voice. Marc's sound man does NOT know the Queen sound. The music is far too much in the background, devoid of any punch, and he makes Marc's voice too bassy, without any clarity or "air". If you saw Marc's audition tape, you know his voice, like Freddie's, has amazing air, clarity, and presence. His soundman mixes as though it's a cabaret act, not a rock concert or record.

Pour moi les 2 sont assurément bluffant vocalement , la seule diff réside non pas dans l'intensité ou la puissance vocale mais plutôt dans l'intention vis à vis de la charge émotionnelle et de la qualité de la performance scénique associé au rendu de l'acoustique, système de sonorisation, jeux de lumières, effets, musiciens, chœurs, etc... ;) <3

When you listen to Marc you think omg his voice is so similiar, nobody can beat him.... and then you listen to Gary and start thinking omg Marc sounds nothing like Freddie PS... holy shit, Marc fans are so mad right now lol... deal with it, Gary is so much better at Freddie impersonation... he sound almost identical while Marc is just a cover

All I can say is when I close my eyes and listen to both Gary sounds more like Freddie than Marc except on Love of My Life because I think ballads suit Marc's voice better. Both fantastic singers though.

They're both great.I saw Gary Mullen when he won Starts in their eyes as Freddie, and it was awe inspiring to see. Gary is really geared toward the 'Live Freddie Performances' form the Live Magic era. Some would day that was when he was at his best, I saw Freddie sing with Queen at Knebworth in 86, and for me, what you get with Gary is as close as you'll ever get to live Freddie, whereas Marc Martel, he is pure genius. His performance encapsulates the Freddie we hear on the vinyl studio albums. Marc can deliver the ballad and bring you to tears, Gary will give you a live version that will make you think you are watching & listening to the real deal. Either way. I love them both, they're great for new Queen fans post Freddie's death, to get a sense of what we had when he was alive. Now I know Queen have been touring with Adam Lambert, I've seen him with them. I'm glad they went for a great singer and not an impersonator. Adam brings a whole new feel to the music. I love it.
